PGBC 2020

Host applications now open!

deadline: Saturday 1st June 2019

We aim to hold the two-day PostGraduate Bioethics Conference (PGBC) each year at different institutions across the UK. The aim of PGBC is to bring together postgraduate students in bioethics and give them the opportunity to network with each other, and to present and receive feedback in a supportive environment of their peers. The spirit of PGBC is inclusive, with students at the heart of the conference. As organisers of PGBC you will be supported not only by your academic mentors but also by the Postgraduate Student Committee (PSC), and as PGBC organisers, up to two of you will be welcomed into the committee.

The PSC consists of an interdisciplinary group of postgraduate students working in bioethics broadly defined - we consist of healthcare practitioners, lawyers, ethicists, and philosophers. The committee are responsible for supporting the organisation and continuing success of the PGBC, organising bioethics events for PGRs, and helping to grow the bioethics community. We work in conjunction with the Institute of Medical Ethics and our activities have been supported by the Wellcome Trust, The Analysis Trust, and The Society for Applied Philosophy.

The deadline for applications is Saturday 1st June 2019. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Please complete the form below if you are interested in hosting and organising PGBC 2020!

Please include reasons for your choice of theme.
For example: student presentations, keynotes etc. You may wish to include a rough schedule of the activity.
Whilst we already have funding for PGBC 2020, we would encourage organisers to approach other funding sources to cover, for example, national/international bursaries, prizes etc.
