IME Conference Grants

Had an abstract accepted but struggling to afford the conference? The IME offers grants for undergraduate medical students, postgraduate medical ethics/bioethics students, and F1 and F2 doctors, to support attendance at meetings and conferences with a substantial bioethics component.

These grants are up to £200 for UK events, £300 in Europe, and £800 for the rest of the world. To be eligible for a grant to attend an event outside of the UK it is a requirement that you are presenting a paper or poster - though this is not necessary for UK-based events.

Society for Applied Philosophy Postgraduate Travel Grant

Open only to members of SAP, these grants will support attendance at various conferences and events. You must be working in applied philosophy.

Society for Applied Philosophy Further Funding Grant

Open only to members of SAP, these grants will support a range of individual projects. The limit of this grant is roughly £1,200. You must be working in applied philosophy.

IME Institutional Grants

These grants of up to £500 are for those organising meetings or other activities with a substantial bioethics component. To apply, you will need the support of a member of staff from your institution

IME Medical Student Electives Bursaries

Medical students opting for an elective in medical ethics may apply for up to £800 to support them.

IME Medical Student Intercalated Scholarships

Scholarships of up to £2,000 are available to medical students undertaking an intercalated degree in medical ethics.

Global Priorities Fellowship

Scholarships of up to £5,000 available to PhD students and postdocs in philosophy whose research tackles global priorities.
